Awesome 80s Run San Francisco Race Recap

Fun times were had this at morning at Golden Gate Park with Lianna, Mamma B & Christine at the Awesome 80s Run - San Francisco. Mostly because we couldn't stop laughing over some of the outfits we saw! I loved that so many of the guys on the course went all out by either wearing a lot (Pee Wee) or very little (leotards, hot pants, legwarmers). The entire warm-up area was a throwback to 80s via the music, the outfits and the neon. There was even a DeLorean on-hand for Back to the Future style photo fun!

The race was fun, the medal & the course were awesome, but there were some race logistics that were lacking. My guess is because the race lacked sufficient volunteers. The course itself was not clearly marked; 5K & 10K runners were confused as to where the turn-around was. As far as food & water - well the water stations were shut down fairly quickly and there weren't really any post-race snacks available. The start and finish chutes were really tiny. We just laughed off all the issues and decided this would be a fun run, rather a fun WALK, since Mamma B was injured. Christine & I were happy to walk along side her and get training tips. (FYI - Mamma B is a rockstar.)

After the race we posed for this totally awesome pic! I don't know if I would ever run this race again, but if you're looking for a fun 10K - go for it.
