Review: E.L.F. Evil Queen Look Book

Late last year E.L.F. Cosmetics released their Disney Villains line of look books and nail polishes. I'm a huge fan and long time user of E.L.F. cosmetics. Their price point is just right and many of their products match or surpass the quality of overpriced brands. All of their products are hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic, are not tested on animals and do not contain animal derived ingredients.

The E.L.F. Disney Villains collection consisted of 4 look books and one nail polish cube (set of 12), all inspired by our favorite Disney Villains: Cruella DeVil, Evil Queen, Maleficent and Ursula.

Each look book comes with 1 of each of the following: mascara, eyeliner pencil, liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow brush, lip gloss, 6 color eyeshadow palette, eyeshadow primer. At only $9.99 for each set - I picked up quite a few of them and gave them as Christmas gifts. That's why I waited until now to post my review - I didn't want to spoil the surprise!

The first kit I'll be reviewing is the Evil Queen kit. Below is a close up the pretty eyeshadow shades available in this palette.

Using just a little bit of my own tinted translucent powder on my bare skin I began the step-by-step process of applying the eye color, starting with the primer. The only other additions on my part, were the addition of blush to my cheek on the "night look" side of my face, and I used an eyelash curler on both eyelashes. Otherwise, I followed the directions as per the kit.

The final look

The final look

I love the night look & the day look, but I will definitely be adding more eyeliner to the day look in the future out of personal preference. Following the instructions was a snap - they make it very simple for those who don't really use make-up often. (It makes it a little tougher for someone like me who already has a different idea about what look I want to create.) The quality of the products is great, with the liquid eyeliner, lip gloss and eyeshadow primer all being products by E.L.F. that I already use. A tip: always have a tissue on-hand to place under your eye when applying eyeshadow to catch any fallout.

I can't wait to keep experimenting with all the palettes. I've got my eye on Ursula next!
