I've been a runner (gosh, it still feels weird to call myself that) for 2 years now. Since I am paying more attention to my overall health it makes sense that I've also been taking my race training much more seriously. Although I have been busy with multiple projects, work and family, I am also focused on my upcoming races. Specifically, my October & November races: Rock 'n' Roll San Jose, Rock 'n' Roll LA and the Avengers Half. Today I chose Jeff Galloway's Avengers Training Program for Runners with a Time Goal as my training plan for all three. Although the race dates vary and don't perfectly line up with the training calendar, I think this particular training program currently best suits my need to run faster and stronger.
The training program, which starts today, should put me in position to finish the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon strong, and with a time I can be proud of. The program is designed for those who have run a half marathon before and want to improve finish time. The minimum training requirement is 3 weekly workouts: 45 minutes on Tuesday and Thursday, and a longer session on the weekend. I've committed my time to the 21 Day Fix, PiYo, soon T25 workout programs, and now I'm adding this training program to the mix. It's going to be tough to juggle, but I want to see results: physically, mentally and in my running as well. Nothing worth having comes easy. I'm all in.
